Who it's for
Four reasons people sit in the chair
Every plan starts with a free consult, in person, by video call or from photos. We look at your hair, skin and the look you want, then map the hairline and shade before a needle comes out.
- Full shave look01
Thinning or bald
A natural, age-appropriate hairline and the look of a close-cropped cut across the whole scalp.
- Density02
Longer hair, thin spots
Pigment under existing hair cuts the contrast between scalp and hair so thin areas read fuller.
- Camouflage03
Scars
Transplant strip scars, FUE dots and injury scars blended into the surrounding follicle pattern.
- Patchy loss04
Alopecia
Fills in patches so the scalp reads even, whether the hair around them is shaved or grown out.
Services & pricing
Priced by coverage, quoted at your consult
Every head is different, so there is no price list. We look at your hair, skin and the look you want, then give you an exact quote with every session included.

The process
Built in layers
SMP is never done in one sitting. Each session goes a little darker and a little denser so the final result looks like real follicles, not a solid shadow.
- Day 0 · 30 min01
Consult
Free, and your choice of in person, video call or photos. Hairline design, shade match, pricing and the dates for your sessions.
- Session 1 · 2–4 hrs02
Foundation
A light, spaced first layer. It sets the hairline and lets us see how your skin holds pigment.
- Session 2 · +10–14 days03
Density
Fills the gaps between first-layer dots and builds depth. This is where it starts to look like hair.
- Session 3 · +10–14 days04
Refine
Final shading, hairline softening and any spots that faded during healing. Shorter session.
Why SMP by Alex
Slow, measured, and built to look like it was never done
Good SMP is invisible. These are the habits that keep it that way.
Ruler and pencil first, needle second
Alex measures your face and draws the hairline on your scalp. Nothing starts until you've approved it in the mirror.
Built in layers, under magnification
Three sessions, each a little darker and denser, placed under loupes so the dots read as stubble in any light.
No blue, no spread
SMP-specific pigment, shallow depth and small deposits keep dots crisp for years instead of blurring into a shadow.
Free consult, three ways
In person, by video call, or from photos you send. Pricing and session dates are set before any deposit.
Texas-required paperwork, done digitally
Health history, informed consent and aftercare acknowledgment are completed online before your session. No clipboard. Start the forms.

SMP by Alex
Every hairline starts with a ruler and a pencil, not a needle. Alex measures your face, draws the line on your scalp, and doesn’t start until you’ve approved it in the mirror.
Then he builds it the slow way, dot by dot over three sessions, under magnification, so the result reads as real stubble in any light.

Questions
Before you book
Does it hurt?
Less than a regular tattoo for most people. The needle is finer and shallower. Expect a scratchy, tingly feeling, with the hairline and crown a little more sensitive.
Will it turn blue or spread?
Not when it's done right. Proper depth, small deposits and SMP-specific pigment are what keep dots crisp. That's why we build in layers instead of rushing one session.
Do I have to keep my head shaved?
For the full shave look, yes. A close clipper cut every few days keeps real stubble and pigment matching. For density work under longer hair, no.
What does it cost?
It depends on coverage. A scar blend is a fraction of a full scalp. You get an exact quote at the free consult, and a deposit holds your session dates.
Do I have to come in for the consult?
No. Pick what works for you: in person at the studio, a quick video call, or photos. For a photo consult, book it online, then send clear photos of your hairline from the front, top, both sides and back. Either way, the hairline gets drawn on and approved in person before your first session.
How long does it last?
Years. Pigment softens slowly with sun and time, so most clients book a short touch-up every three to five years to keep the color crisp.
Is there paperwork before my session?
Yes, and you can do it from your phone. Texas requires a health history, informed consent and an aftercare acknowledgment. Complete them on the consent page before you come in, and bring a government photo ID.
